BRATISLAVA — October 6, 2010 — 2Ring has announced the availability of NetFAX 3.0. Many customers have been waiting for this breakthrough release since it brings long awaited support for T.38/G.711 protocols. This release no longer requires a Cisco voice gateway running in H.323 mode with T.37 support. Thanks to this change the application becomes suitable for environments with at least one T.38 based gateway such as Avaya telephony and also for customers running SIP based telephony networks. Even Cisco environments can benefit from this feature since it breaks the gateways free from the previously required H.323 mode and thus allows widely used MGCP signalization to be used. NetFAX has adapted to new and upcoming trends letting you choose your environment more freely without sacrificing NetFAX's pleasantly efficient faxing capabilities.
The new version also brings enhancements in the faxing experience itself. It is now possible to send a fax message using a web browser with no local software installed on the user’s PC. Just upload your message using a browser and you’re set. NetFAX supports a wide variety of file formats in this scenario (.ps, .pdf, .xps, .txt, .jpg, .png, .gif a .tif). Of course, NetFAX will notify the user via e-mail about the success or failure of the fax message sending process.
Based on feedback from our clients, we have added SNMP support to the product (Simple Network Management Protokol) making it observable by monitoring systems and agents. The administrator will be the first to know about an emerging problem and will be able to react proactively before users can encounter any problem or failure. NetFAX will thus be even more dependable.
We now also support more underlying platforms for NetFAX usage. On the server side, a free CentOS distribution and a paid RedHat enterprise distribution are now supported. We still support a wide variety of client platforms such as Windows XP, Vista, 7 and even Linux.
To implement T.38 protocol, we are using proven BladeWare Commetrex (
